Truth is sometimes very difficult to grasp or comprehend. The concept of Maya or the optical illusion of world-appearence is certainly a very very difficult truth to grasp. Our mind is so conditioned that it is difficult to comprehend this idea.
There is an unconventional source that could help the common man comprehend the incomprehensible. Holly Wood. I can immediately think of two movies that are far from religious or spiritual, but the plot and the way the movie progresses can help our mind prepare for the spiritual truths. If we can project the theme of these materialistic movies on a spiritual plane, suddenly the concept of Maya becomes comprehensible. One movie is MATRIX and the other movie is THE TRUMAN SHOW.
On the crow and coconut example, the closest that I can think of is a German movie titled in English as "RUN LOLA RUN" , a movie that has the same story repeated three times.. A movie that shows how someone's world can change with slightest change in time and space... This theme found its way to tamil cinema in the form of a movie titled 12B...
A very unusual way to learn spirituality as it is an unsual way of interpreting cinema...
Yesterday I watched another movie in SOLARIS, a George Clooney-Natasha McElhone movie by Steven Sodenberg based on a 1961 Novel by Stainslem Law, a polish novelist.
It is an amazingly NEAT paranormal, science fiction movie, set in the future. A Psychiatrist is sent on a mission to a Space Ship stationed near the planet SOLARIS and aboard the space ship he was visited by his dead wife, in flesh and blood, she has the memories of his dead wife, but still feels that it wasn't her...
This and other movies that I have talked about might have been intended as simple science fiction movies. But if you watch them deeply certain profound concepts such as Maya and psychological form becomes easier to understand...
